[UD News=Jang Woo-young Reporter] 'Crossing the Line Family' concluded its grand finale through the 89th episode, having visited a total of 59 countries and 259 cities.

On the 89th episode of Channel A's 'Crossing the Line Family' broadcast on the 26th, MCs 4MC An Jeong-hwan, Lee Hye-won, Yoo Se-yoon, and Song Jin-woo, along with American representative Chris, Fabien from France, and Peter from the UK, sat in the studio. Meanwhile, Crossing the Line Families from Vietnam, the US, and the UK revealed unique travel destinations and experiences popular among locals in their respective countries, sparking interest. Additionally, after approximately two years of vicariously experiencing the lives of international families totaling 114 teams, 'Crossing the Line Family' announced its final broadcast that day, bidding heartfelt goodbyes to viewers and the 'Crossing the Line' members from various countries.

First, Hyeon-gi Lee and Lily, who reside in Ho Chi Minh City, greeted the 'Vietnamese Family' after a long time. Then, they said, "I will go on vacation to a resort that is popular among the people of Ho Chi Minh City," and set off on their journey. After driving for 2 hours by bus, they arrived at their destination, 'Binh Thuan,' which is a weekend travel spot for Vietnamese people and has emerged as a 'budget-friendly resort.' Upon reaching the beach, which spans a total length of 10km, they were attracted by the numerous parasols prepared for day-trippers. However, they said, "We don't need parasols because we have reserved a hotel," and checked into a '5-star' hotel. The price of this hotel, which features European-style interior design, spacious rooms, and a huge outdoor pool, including breakfast, was approximately '140,000 won' per night, causing shock.

The 'Vietnamese Family' who came out of the hotel had traditional Phan Thiet dishes such as Banh Khot and Banh Seo, along with drinks, for about 10,000 won at a local restaurant. Afterward, the 'Vietnamese Family' enjoyed some healing time at a popular seaside cafe on SNS, where the price for two drinks and even a chocolate stick totaled around 9,900 won, which was cheaper than in Ho Chi Minh City. Next, they consecutively visited landmarks including the 'Jesus Statue,' the former residence of the French Governor-General 'Bach Dinh,' and the Nillavana Temple which houses a 12-meter-long Buddha statue. Following this, they received a foot massage, a must-do activity in their Vietnam trip, at approximately 16,000 won per person. For dinner, they relished fresh seafood at a famous restaurant in Phan Thiet, including grilled tiger shrimp, seafood tofu stir-fry, and seafood fried noodles. Contrary to the predictions of the show's participants, which were around 40,000 to 50,000 won, the final bill was approximately 36,000 won. The total travel expenses for the 'Vietnamese Family' over 1 night and 2 days in Phan Thiet, based on a 2-person standard, amounted to about 250,000 won. All participants gave a thumbs up, saying, "This is the best value for money among the places we've seen on our trip!"

Following that, the new 'American Family' Shin Sulye and Mark introduced their 8-month-old son Ian. They said, "Mark was born and raised in New York, making him a true New Yorker," and declared, "We will estimate the total cost of a 'New York One-Month Stay' course recommended by locals."

The 'American Family' entered the mart and confirmed that the grocery prices in Seoul were similar. However, they all agreed that "it's not possible to cook every day during a trip to New York." Then, saying "there's a food you must try when you come to New York," they headed to a New York steakhouse. Enjoying the 'Porterhouse' steak with mushrooms and spinach garnish at a restaurant with a 140-year tradition, the total cost including tips came to about 320,000 won, which left everyone sighing. For the 'leisure expense' check, buying tickets to the Empire State Building observatory resulted in a cost of approximately 110,000 won per person. After admiring the magnificent skyscrapers of New York from the observatory, the 'American Family' concluded that "when budgeting for accommodation at 13 million won, transportation at 200,000 won, food at 4.5 to 5 million won, and leisure at 1 to 1.5 million won, the total cost for a month-long stay in New York would be expected to be around 1.5 to 2 billion won."

Lastly, the 'British Family' featuring Hwang Yu-jin and Joe, who have been diligently taking care of their daughter Ari born last year, complained about sudden exhaustion due to their efforts. They headed to the Isle of Wight, Joe’s hometown and where his in-laws reside, for the weekend. About 120km away from London, the Isle of Wight is a representative healing destination that was voted as the top city where Britons want to retire. The 'British Family,' meeting with the in-laws, enjoyed a fairy-tale-like atmosphere by visiting the old town 'Shanklin Village,' where British-style cottages gather, as their first course. Afterward, they savored 'afternoon tea' at the British-style cafe 'Tea Room,' which has been modernized from a cottage, and then walked along the beach to admire the impressive vertical striped sand cliffs of 'Alum Bay.'

After 'British Family' arrived at the house where the in-laws live, the mother-in-law said, "I will make a special Sunday meal called 'Sunday Roast.'" She prepared roast beef, roasted vegetables, Yorkshire pudding, and gravy sauce. They enjoyed the quintessential British dish, 'Sunday Roast,' with their family, finding special healing in this meal amidst the daily grind of childcare that had been exhausting them.

Meanwhile, the show 'Beyond the Line Family' that premiered in 2023 concluded after traveling to a total of 59 countries and 259 cities around the world. Ahn Jung-hwan said, "I sincerely thank the 114 teams of 'Beyond the Line' who introduced us to various cultures. It was a happy time to learn about life and existence by watching you all." Lee Hye-won also said, "We know there were many difficult things in living abroad," and encouraged, "Keep fighting till the end!" with sincere support for all 'Beyond the Line' families around the world. /elnino8919@UD News.co.kr
