Entertainment service Netflix released all 6 episodes of the drama 'Squid Game Season 3' (Written/Directed by Hwang Dong-hyuk) on the 27th at 4 PM.

'Squid Game 3' is a story about Gi-hun, who loses his closest friend in the game where he participated again with his own objectives, the frontman who infiltrated the game while hiding his identity, and the final fate of the participants who survived in that cruel game.

◇ Season 2 buildup, Season 3 conclusion is 'Catastrophe'

◇"456 Seong Gihun, are you still believing in people?"

The frontman relentlessly questions Ki-hoon. Where does his reckless belief come from, and why is it unshakable even in the face of any threat? When Ki-hoon opposes those who want to kill children, the frontman hands him the knife and asks, "Do you still believe in people?" In a situation where they are pawns on a chessboard, killing each other, Ki-hoon chooses to be a 'person' rather than a 'pawn.' As the frontman leaves after delivering his daughter's belongings, various emotions cross his face. What did Sung Ki-hoon leave behind for him, who created the enormous squid game world that lost its humanity? This is the question 'Squid Game' poses. ◇ The death game puts more weight on the message than on fun.

While emphasizing the message by discussing the conclusion, it feels less enjoyable compared to its predecessors in terms of the death game genre. Although a new game like group jump rope is introduced, the tension is less compared to other games. The squid game that appeared in the season 1 finale develops into a different version in season 3.

The conclusion of the new characters in Season 2 is also lackluster. The reason why Nohul (Park Gyu-young) tries to collapse the Squid Game universe in order to save Kyungseok (Lee Jin-wook) is hard to accept. Bad dad Myeonggi (Im Si-wan), good dad Kyungseok, Junho (Wi Hye-jun) who collapses the Squid Game arena while looking for his brother, all flow predictably without any twists. In addition to these, characters such as Deputy Commander (Park Hee-soon), Dragon Palace Fairy (Chae Guk-hee), Park Min-soo (Lee Da-wit), with their shallow narratives and importance compared to the overly forceful acting, seem somewhat exaggerated.

◇Born in the midst of ruin.

In the midst of a brutal massacre, Junhee's child becomes a turning point that shakes all the circumstances of "Squid Game." Due to the child's existence, the inner conflicts of each character intensify, as does the tension within the game arena. Participants must sharply divide their choices: whether to see the newborn as one among the 456, whether to protect or kill the child, and whether to prioritize values over desires. This leads viewers to ponder and empathize with whose choice they support. However, it is regrettable that the message relies solely on maternal and quasi-paternal love. Starting from the childbirth scene in episode 2, the first half of season 3 deals with various emotions related to life and children. While genre-based entertainment takes a back seat, the emphasis on the message can sometimes feel burdensome.

Another point, the ending of season 3 hints at a new sequel. When season 2 was released, there were rumors about Leonardo DiCaprio (Leonardo DiCaprio) starring, which Netflix denied. At the end of season 3, the stage moves to the United States, where another Hollywood star appears, taking on the role of 'Ddakji Man,' played by South Korean actor Gong Yoo in the previous series. It is expected that viewers will speculate whether the season 3 ending will hint at another 'Squid Game.'
