Xiaomi YU7 Order Surpasses 200 Thousand Units in 3 Minutes, Scalpers Running Rampant!
Xiaomi YU7 comes in three variants:
Standard Version: Priced at 253,500 yuan (approximately Rp 573 million).
Pro Version: Sold for 279,900 yuan (approximately IDR 632 million).
Max Version: Offered at a price of 329,900 yuan (approximately 745 million RMB).
This surge in orders, which reached 289,000 units in the first hour, unexpectedly triggered the emergence of "scalpers" on various second-hand sales platforms.
IT Home found that many scalpers are uploading their YU7 orders to "resell at a marked-up price," with price increases ranging from 1,000 yuan to 10,000 or even 20,000 yuan (approximately Rp 2.2 million to Rp 45 million).
Xiaomi Auto Emphasizes Orders Cannot Be Redirected Directly
In response to this phenomenon, Xiaomi Auto issued a statement to the media "Shangyou News." They emphasized that Xiaomi car orders do not support direct transfers or changes in car buyers. The company recommends that consumers order new cars through official channels for safety and fairness.
The Xiaomi staff suggested that if buyers want to sell their car for various reasons in the future, they can do so through the used car transaction process.
The process of transferring car ownership directly is considered safer. "We can never change the buyer. This is for the rights of users and for everyone to buy fairly," the staff explained.
This underscores Xiaomi's commitment to ensuring that every buyer has an equal and fair opportunity to obtain their vehicle through official channels, while simultaneously combating scalping practices that attempt to exploit high demand. ***
